Welcome to HORA! We would like to use this online company tour to show you why we are an exceptional mechanical engineering company and one of Germany's leading manufacturers of control valves and actuators for power and building automation.

The Holter Regelarmaturen GmbH & Co. KG (HORA) is a medium-sized family company based in the Westphalian town of Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock and currently employs around 300 workers. All business activities are carried out at this location and are supported world-wide by our sales partners.

Here you can see our Managing Director Prof. Dr. Dieter Dresselhaus. His father Georg Dresselhaus founded the family company in 1967. Continuity and stability are important core values for us.

Transparency plays an important role at HORA. All employees can keep constantly up to date with the key performance indicators. This creates trust and enhances identification with the company. Many of the employees have been with HORA for decades.

We have been concentrating on one business since 1967: Designing, manufacturing and marketing of innovative control valves and actuators. With the consequent focus on the Power Technology and Flow Control segments, we serve the specific customer needs of both these markets.

Power Technology ultimately involves tailor-made high-end solutions for power plant technology. We develop our core products ourselves. This low-pressure turbine bypass valve is supplied to a Chinese power plant. It is more than 2.5 meters in height and weighs more than 2.5 tons.

Our ability to safely master complexity is a result of the combination of well-trained employees, modern CAD and simulation tools as well as professional manufacturing methods. The Power Technology division exports almost 80 percent of all its products. The quality of the products is based on methodological development competency, the most-modern manufacturing installations and sophisticated test technology.

The almost 100 percent delivery reliability compliance is assured by our own order centre. From here the provision of material is controlled, the manufacturing and assembly processes are coordinated and the overall flow of the customer order is closely monitored: Alarm messages indicate problems.

Employees benefit from the most modern technology of factory equipment. All the profits are re-invested within HORA.

Process optimization is a success strategy particularly in the Flow Control division. Quick and flexible processes guarantee short manufacturing times and highest levels of delivery reliability. Flexible production control with Kanban is an example. The material flow is lean as a result of the demand-based pull principle.

Process optimization on the Flow Control division means that control valves and actuators for building applications can be ready for delivery within 4 hours after receipt of an order.

We know that extraordinary success is achieved by extraordinary performance. Our corporate culture cultivates enjoyment of work and a collegial and familial atmosphere.

Our employees appreciate the personal responsibility for their own actions. They take a share of the company profits.

This is what our manufacturing facilities look like. HORA operates according to the 5S methodology. The principle of "neat and tidy" is based on the Japanese Lean-Management concept: sorting, straightening, systematic cleaning, standardizing, and sustaining.

Around 15 percent of our employees are apprentices or study at technical colleges or universities. Our apprentices are training for qualifications as cutting machine operators, technical product designers, mechatronics technicians, IT specialists or industrial clerks. We are a partner for motivated students, whom we can offer dual or joint study programs.

That is HORA. Excellence has proven to be a growth driver - and this is not left to chance at HORA. If you want to see more of HORA you are welcome to come and visit us. We look forward to welcoming you to our company!
